FarmHand Equipment

I am looking for information on old Farm hand equipment. I found a couple old "Experimental" farmhand power disc,,at least that is who the old owner "thinks" made them, he found them at a salvage yard cut it half back in the early 70's. I am going to look at them this week,,thinking about bringing one back to life for the Rantual show..I looked at them back 20 years ago,,and haven't seen them since, but they are laying in the same spot...

They were PTO driven but I'm thinking they had plain disc blades on them ,not roto tiller blades..and I think Farmhand was made at Hopkins Mn.,,and I don't know how they ended up in the Columbus Ohio area...but stranger things have happened...

Farmhand was well sold in this area especially grinder-mixers and hay accumulators among other tools. I recall rakes and loaders as well. Maybe Farmhand had those tillage tools there for experiment and trial purposes. I know New York is a long ways away from the builders in the Mid-West but years ago there were farmers who cooped with the big manufacturers on machine trials.

Tim, since Farmhand was acquired by AGCO, you might be able to find the parts breakdown for that model of disk at agcopartsbooks.com.

I don't think the Power disc made the cut,,so not likely to be in parts info..and I will find out more and get some pictures this week...

Tim, there is a Farmhand power disc for sale on Tractor House right now. Not sure if it is the same thing you have. Mike

Sorry about that, I overlooked that fact until after hitting "submit"... Farmhand wasn't made too far away from where I live, and most of what I've seen are loaders, silage wagons, and feed grinders. They had some interesting designs for some of their stuff, that's for sure. Their F48 silage wagons had a lengthwise auger that would cycle back and forth across the floor to empty, in lieu of an apron chain. At one point they had some sort of Ram Jet contraption too... It will be interesting to see what you come up with!

There are some PTO powered disks on u tube I know the kioti tractor dealer had a brochure for them I always wanted one

I found the one on Tractor House that Mike told about,, I was under the impression that the one near me was a Proto type,, and it still could be,, when I go look at it this week I'll post a picture of it,,the more I look at the One on tractor House it sorta reminds me of the one near me, but it's been 20 years since I viewed it..
