upgrading the pump on my log splitter to a 11 gpm 2 stage pump. Can I get by for a while with the old 3/8 in hoses?

Hello,

With that kind of volume 3/8 is really not enough. That will only hurt the cycle speed though. I think you will be happy with the small lines, upgrade later,

Yes. I have been amazed, many times, by the SMALL hoses used on modern farm equipment.

At 11 GPM's and intermittent duty, you have nothing to worry about.

"Will I get by?" Obviously. Other than that, how long will it be before you become dissatisfied.

I just built a 2 stage 16 gpm system from scratch and learned a few things about the subject in the process.

"Size matters".
