I am contemplating a winter project here at home. My wife likes to collect shot glasses from places that she has been. I built a shelf with a mirrored back a few years ago, however I need to build more space. I have a thought of building a narrow shelf around the top of the room to hold them and backlight the shelf to highlight the glasses.
My old shelf is almost 4' long and the smaller shelf is about 2' long. This means I need about 26' of shelf. The room has one wall 12' long, then over the door is almost 10', and the third wall is about 16'. In my mind I don't want to see any support brackets under it and I don't have a lot of room over the door for it. Any suggestions from you guys?
Here are some pics of what I am talking about.
