Well now that I have cleaned off the nameplate on the left hand side of my Oliver Super 55, the serial number reads 30 772-518 and spec. #15-0007 what exactly do I have here? My shop manual has not arrived yet but should be here soon. I believe the tractor was a 1957. Anyway all your help will be appreciated thank you for all tour help.

I think it was built in 1955. I was discharged from the Army that year. Had a wife & daughter too. Hal

Looks like a 1955 to me to. To be a 1957,the fuel cap would be in the center of the hood, not up front under the radiator cap door. 57's had a key start ignition and the gas and diesel both were 12 volt from the factory. The 57's had Oliver in raised letters on the fenders too.

This tractor has the gas cap in the middle and yes I need to start my posts in the Oliver section.

You didn't buy that tractor from Jennifer 408 on this forum did you? She had one that had been assembled with some Super 55 parts and some 550 parts.

No my father bought this Oliver back in about 1964 or 65 I believe it was. I'm seeing 2 caps on top of the trans for fluid, the one on the back has a dip stick and the one front does not. Now since I don't have my manual yet what type of fluids are they taking? grease, oil? Pops farmed almonds back in the day about 75 miles or so from Bakersfield Ca.

i still haven't got a build card for it yet,, i did get the the shop and owners manuals for it. i replaced the fluids and belt and seals, pulled oil pan and cleaned it all out and put new gasket, found the block was cracked, so i JB Welded it (we'll see if if it holds or not) the fuel line was fried so i replaced it with stainless, i just have to bend one last piece into place and i can try to start it for the first time, but i have just been too ill to go out and play with them, if i walk 20 feet i can hardly catch my breath. the last time we went into town to shop just about did me in.i had 2 strokes, one at the end aug, 2nd a few days later, can't taste food, right arm and hand is numb and my whole body is retaining water. i'm going to go see a new DR on the 20th, maybe she can help me find the right DRs. i refuse to do kemo and radiation especially with 80% i might die from it and 20% i might live, odds.
