Update on Another Battery Issue

On the 2011 Dodge 5.7, I put my little 10 amp charger on it this AM. About 5 degrees, truck sits outside. Charger needle went to 3 and very quickly dropped down to about a half or a quarter. Charger on less than two hrs, removed it, had to go load a trailer of hay. Starter peppier than yesterday but the charger likely warmed it. I'm thinking that model engine might just have a starter geared so that you'd think the battery is weak.

You cannot fully charge a 5 degree battery..
At 0 degrees, a FULLY charged battery will only deliver 50%...that is only 500 Amps if it is a 1000 Amp battery and you Cannot get the battery to charge more unless you can warm the battery..

Chrysler starters always sound like they have a gear-reduction, not sure about that tho..

I agree with BP about gear reduction sounding. From slant 6s to 440s. Only ones I never owned was the 360 and hemi.
