John Deere GM 3-Point Kit?

HI all! I was talking with a buddy, and a friend of his in the local club, has several JD G's and A's and many others! I was at his house a while back, and on all the G's (just parts tractors) were JOHN DEERE 3 point kits?? They were on the rock shafts.

Well, my John Deere GM that we have been working on has the nice Power Trol with the handle that can raise and lower things a little at a time, rather than all the way up or down.

I called the guy to see if he would sell me a complete kit, and I am sure that he will, but what are they worth? The new aftermarket kits for things like that are 6-7-$800. So? What do you think?

I mainly want it so that it can handle a 3x16 3 point plow at the plow days and stuff... Thanks! Bryce

Well if it is a factory JD hitch (which were made for the models 50,60,70)then the price of those has dropped over the years down to around $500-$600 ? depending on how complete they are.
Now many like a hitch sold by Saginaw I think they are ? Not sure what NEW ones run ? but typically a used aftermarket one should run about half cost of a new one ?

We paid $200 for the 3-point below that came off a Model G.

Bought a couple of new Category 1 "ends" to replace the worn out ones.

Used lots of PB Blaster to get all the threaded pieces moving again.

Cleaned up all the pieces and repainted.

Hope this helps.

We had one. (801) on a new G. You also need the extender. Tomake the top links work. And turn the top link hole verticle. They had mechanical draft control. Need a gauge wheel on plow. Then let it float. Worked good. Vic
