Nobody would have ever thought that a company could make a success of selling 50 cent coffee for
$5.00.

If they had to depend on me...............they would go belly-up. I like coffee, but not at $5 a cup.

(quoted from post at 06:29:38 01/05/15) If they had to depend on me...............they would go belly-up. I like coffee, but not at $5 a cup.

If they had to depend on me, it would be tough also. I am 62 and have never had a cup of coffee. I made the mistake of tasting it once. Have drank enough hot tea to float a battleship.

I learned to drink coffee in the US Army, I also learned some other drinks to like.

I drink 4 to 6 cups a day, but would walk an extra half mile before I would spend that much on a cup of good ole black coffee. Don't need that extra stuff that makes it taste like candy.

It's an acquired taste. When I was a youngster I drank it with cream and sugar. The wife of a seed corn dealer offered me a cup one morning and I asked for it that way and she made a face and asked me why I wanted to turn it in to castor oil?
Then another milk hauler had to take my truck to
run his route one day after I got in and unloaded because his was in the shop. I went with him and he had a Thermos full of black coffee. I thought I'd gag on that bitter stuff, but it grew on me.

I like cream and sugar in mine, but I gotta have it to get me going in the morning. One in a while my wife and I will treat ourselves to some Starbucks, maybe once a year.

I'm with you Richard! I drink three full pots of black tea a day...one with each meal. In her rebellious stage my daughter decided we needed to drink coffee, not tea. So she started going to Starbucks. Rather than fight, I joined her. We never drank real coffee...always the lattes, etc. Lately she has been ordering their tea. I still like a hot mocha from time to time. Kinda ironic.

Yup, and who would'a thought selling water in a palstic bottle would have turned into a multi million dollar industry?

Yup- nothing like industrial strength mess hall coffee. Trained/served on 9 different posts- all tasted the same.

Doc told me to cut my coffee down to one or two cups a week, which I did. Then when I would drink a cup, I didn't feel right. So I quit altogether. It does the body no good whatsoever as it is full of toxins.

How about a $55.00 cup of Starbucks in TX

When I was growing up, folks said I could start drinking coffee whenever I wanted, as long as it was black. Can't stand anything in it now, and won't pay 5 bucks for Starbucks, or even $2.19 for Dennys. Mickey D's senior coffee is 85 cents, Jack in the Box is 55 cents, and Wendys (which is the best of the lot) is free. Works for me.

I don't and won't drink $tarbuck$ coffee. Heading into Chicago one morning the radio show I was listening to said they add an elixer to their coffee that makes white people shop at the gap and banana republic and I sure as heck can't afford that.

And a lot of people that are paying those high prices for coffee have cable TV, high speed Internet, security systems with monthly fees, car payments, landscape service, etc, - and are behind on their house payments!

I have drank a lot of coffee over the years. I hate Starbucks coffee. The neighbors wife brought home a cup of it for us, and when they weren't looking, I dumped it. I wouldn't drink it, if it was a .05 a cup. Besides that the Doc put me on decrap coffee, now.

I enjoy your funnies greatly. I had a guy that I worked with. He drank a lot of coffee and the stronger the better. He said he didn't like to drink much water to get his coffee. We had a puculator coffee pot, 9 cup or so. He would drink 3 pots a day real easy. If he had half a pot left on Friday he would unplug it. Come Monday morning he would just add more water and more grounds on top of the other already in the pot and perk it thru and drink it all. Anybody that he offered some to learned to take a half cup and cut it with water.
