The first day of the new year!

Went to the barn this morning and found our mare laying down she did not want to get up she was foaled in 1980 so she was 35 years old we had to say goodbye to her today she was the first horse I learned to lead 25 years ago she was such a gentle horse she was a thoroughbred but she looked more like a plow horse. I still have two horses left my horse and the owner of the Farms horse. My horse has the white star on her head. The horse we put down today is the one on the right. i have a old appaloosa gelding he is right around 35 blind and all his teeth are worn down.we feed him a purina senior feed.seems to keep him going for now.

You have my sympathies and I understand.

My first horse is pushing 29. Right now she is doing ok, but she really started showing her age the last couple of years. She is the one I look for when I make that turn to the house.
