Sisal Baler Twine

Was in the local farm store today and walked by the baler twine, has taken a jump in price, called a few other places later to compare, for 7200 or 9000 their all between $54 and $60 a bale. Using 7200 that will put the cost of string around 14 cents a bale for me, new all time high, at least fuel (gas) is down for now.

I use plastic twine,..40.000 ft $42, much cheaper and it won't rot like sisal does if one leaves the bales in the field for a month

I think he's talking about square bales. I used to use the 9000 sisal
on them. On rounds I use the uv protected 140# which is around
$35-40 in the 40k ft. 2 spool box. I can feed 2 year old hay and
the strings are still intact.....barely.
