Been working on the 79 Dodge off-and-on this fall and early winter but now it's time to buckle down and get it done. It had severe rot in the floor, rocker panel and cab door on both sides. The only way out was a different cab or do this. It was getting so the door wasn't shutting right anymore. I'm not one to back away from a challenge so I tackled it this way. I have all the pieces, now it's time to go back up with it. My fear is a door that doesn't fit right after I'm done. I'm thinking the door will have to go back on soon so I can check up on alignment as I go. I've never done this before but it's not going to be in a street shine contest after it's done. If I had not bought this thing new and my son hadn't grown up driving it I would never have done this. The pic looks clear on the computer but slightly fuzzy in the preview. Don't know what happened. Want to do that to an 85 Ford? I used wire and drilled a couple of holes in the cab corner to wire it to the frame.

I have a perfectly good cab and front clip as well as a rather strong big block if you want to do it the easy way.

Old Ford,- may not be much easier, I did my '74 F250 a few years ago. My floorboards weren't as bad but the cab mounts were a 'project' !! We also have a '79 Chev. here we want to do,it is as bad as your Dodge, was real lucky and found a very solid cab for it.

Shhhh! Don't let my son know about the big block! LOL The cab offer sounds inviting. I already have some money invested in floor panels, rocker panels, cab supports and cab corners but if I screw something up it might be time to go the easy way. I do have two left door shells from army surplus but I don't plan on doing doors or fenders for awhile. Maybe next winter. Doors and fenders will be a breeze after doing this. Jim

I have been there before ! What you forgot was to
weld in temporary braces to keep it square before
cutting everything out. Lots of work there , best
