way OT: 110v genset head piggybacked on zero turn mower

I HATE messing with weedeater engines. Could I mount a small 110v generator on the engine and use it to run an electric weedeater? Any better idea on starting just the diesel mower engine on mowing day? I'm in Florida so mowing is a year round job.

I gota say I realy like my 150 dollar Kobalt cordless electric weedwacker, plenty of power, quiet, cool, less vibration and very light. The gas weedwacker only comes out for brush cutting with the blade

The Raven. Gas/ electric hybrid mower, with 7000 watt generator as part of the deal.

A few years ago, I gave up on all 2 cycle weed wackers and chainsaws.

I purchased a very easy starting 4 cycle husqvarna weed eater which has a Honda engine. It is many times stronger than any electric. Then I purchases a 3500 w generator on wheels to power a 4 hp electric 18 inch worx chainsaw.

The generator runs about 3 hours on a gallon of gas. It's easy to start. Many times quieter than a 2 cycle. Not to mention no mixing gas/oil. No smell.

I don't mind an extension cord for the chainsaw. But pulling an extension cord to do weed eating and blowing crass clippings is another story.

No idea how to put a generator on a ZTR. I can't see why I would want re-invent a generator on a mower.

Black and Decker made a 12v cordless weed eater. I had one. They are wimps.

So you want to trim without using a trimmer? I've considered getting a 12 volt motor (wiper motor, heater fan motor, etc) and welding a bracket for the motor on the front corner of the mower deck. Then just adapt a trimmer head to the motor and install a toggle switch. When you go by a building just flip the switch and trim at the same time.

Instead I bought a Stihl trimmer. Man I love that thing.

What about one of these:

A lot would depend on the amp output of your alternator, but even with a low amp alternator you should get some good intermittent use.

The Raven sales have stopped. Due to quality issues. Last time I checked they were being recalled and PSBs were issued. Before they were even out of the box.

Peco has a 12v string trimmer unit that mounts to the left side of the mower deck.

The other mechanic bought one and tested it, said it was o.k. in light stuff, but not the heavy stuff. So if you weren't going to trim every week, it was not for you.

I hav seen something like that before talked about on this site. It was a 12 volt motor with a sting trimmer head attached to it that bolted on the side of your deck. I posted a video of something similar.
