What do you guys think of Taylor weights?

They're weights. They work, unless you're looking for "restoration quality" originals. I have some Taylor split rear weights for IH tractors.

I'd much rather wrestle the weights than have to straighten out that smashed-up grille and hood after a day of plowing. Easier to see around, too.

This one is actually on the same line of thinking. LOL

PS Taylor weight are fine if you just needing weight. The trailer queen guys will dis-own you for having them. As they are not "original"

I have 'mixed' suitcase wts. Some Taylor, some IH. They are exactly the same.Except the IH wts have IH on the side. The Taylor are plain.'Hide' the Taylor wts in the middle,no one will be the wiser!

I bought a 6000 once that looked like that.Drove it home,5 miles. Only I didnt have the 'weight' sitting on the fender.Kind of a 'spooky' ride...

Is that pic from NJ. Are they heading for the turnip patch? Did Larry age that much? Sorry, couldn't help myself. Just kidding.

I see Taylor Weights are in Wichita Falls, TX. I have a full set of Lonestar Weights also from Wichita Falls, TX. May or may not be the same company.
The weights from Lonestar are very good, get the job done. Made in India.
About a dollar a pound, free shipping over 1000 pounds.

Years ago, I had a neighbor put a seat on his 30 gallon lawn roller. He pulled the roller with a mower and his wife sat on the roller. What a kodac moment. She was very big.

My BIL, who lives in N In, has many weights he no
longer needs. He too was thinking of selling them
for a $1/#. He had them hanging off his forklift as
ballast so he could lift boats in his boat storage
building.

He might sell the broken forklift too.

I always figured weight is weight. As long as its secured properly.
I got 600lb on the front of a Kubota I have. The dealer I brought it from though they were some kind of rear combine weights. I just painted over the red with orange and people who don't know any different think there factory weights.
I run a couple of Oliver weights on the back of my small Kubota loader tractor. I just bolted them together, put a three point drawbar through them, and hook them to the 3 pt. Sometimes I need a little extra weight but don't want something big on the three point. Haven't gotten around to painting them orange yet.

I have sold their weights in for over 25 years with no problems. Biggest problem is getting them. They seem to have plenty when steel or scrap prices are down but as it goes up weights get scarce. If they will sell direct to you as an end used I will be surprised. Usually to dealers only.

Guy across the road used to put his large wife on the hood of a smaller IH tractor to haul round bales to their horses. About six years ago he bought a larger tractor and cured the noise problem on the front of the smaller tractor.
