What is the brand of the elevator in your picture on the firewood thread? We had one for years that looked just like that. Never knew who it was made by. Boy if I had a dollar for every bale I either put on or loaded off that thing...

My elevator is John Deere eighteen and one half inch wide by
30 ft. long powered with an electric or gas motor. With right
parts it can be powered by PTO.

It is a real work saver. Before I got it I used a dump trailer and
a tractor and loader. What I ended up with many small piles
scattered out at an increasing distance from the furnace
impossible to cover. Now I can make a pile that goes vertically
not horizontally.

Ours was PTO driven and didn't have a spot of paint on it left anywhere. It sat outside most of the time. Usually ran it with a Case VAC running as slow as it would run. The guy unloading bales off the wagon could work the guy in the loft to death as the bales would be end to end.

Dan - we had a local firewood dealer that used an elevator like yours, but he remounted the wheels at right angles to the original position. It allowed him to leave the bottom end in one spot by his splitter, and he'd rotate the high end to make a nearly complete circular woodpile. He could make an impressive pile of wood with that thing. It looked solid from the highway, but even being hollow in the middle - still lots of firewood.
