Turned my old5640 Ford in on another Kubota. M100GX this time with loader. So now we have two Kubota loader tractors, this one will be the yard tractor to feed the milk cows. The old Ford did this for the last 20 years getting about400 hrs per year . Two weeks till my birthday and Christmas the next day, I got my combind gift a wee bit early this year. Bruce

That is neat! Happy birthday. I imagine these both have power/shuttle shift? I believe your Maxxum did. How about the Ford? I can't imagine an everyday chore tractor with an old fashioned dry engine clutch. What a job to change that with MFWD, cab, and loader!

Did Rudolph strain himself pulling Santa's sleigh with a tractor in it?

Was the Ford giving you problems and what repairs did you do over the years to the Ford?

Thanks

Don

We did the clutch on the Ford at 5000 hrs and rebuilt the front axle last year. But The forward/reverser is about shot, tires are done and I can't keep break fluid in it, even after replacing the master. With 8000 hrs on the analog hour meter, I just felt if I don't turn it in now, it will soon want another clutch, and this time a fly wheel to go with it. The Ford was a real good loader tractor for me but, it is getting wore out, hate to see it go. Bruce

Looks good. It wouldn't have taken much to talk me in to one this afternoon when I broke a spindle on the 1600 Oliver, taking a bale out. I really didn't need that aggravation late in the day.

Bruce those jerseys must really be making you a lot of money this year to be able to buy two new tractors. My hat goes off to you! Kenny in sc.

Bruce,
Kubota is really makeing a big impact around here also. The Green, and the Red/Blue dealers are really feeling the impact of Kubota presence. Many of the Red/Blue dealers have been Kubota dealers for many years, and their priorties are shifting to Kubota. The JD dealers are still too aragent to accept the fact that Kubota as a major player in the under 150HPmarket, which is 95% of unit sales here in the NE.

That's to bad the ford is worn out, I'm a ford man myself, hope the kubota last as long as the ford did. Not taking anything away from you, but around here it seems like people really love kubota, at lest for compact tractors, I have a ford 1720 that's been trouble free, I don't know what kubota has over everyone else.

Bruce, you are a regular one man economic recovery program.

My Ford 8240 went down the road a few days ago, but I am downsizing so it won't be replaced.

Find the cabin air filter and keep it clean life will be good... I second the grapple its the best invention known to man...

With the skid steer type mounts I change from bucket to pallet forks in 5 minutes, one trip out of the tractor. Big rounds can be loaded from side or end with pallet forks. 3pt spear on the back.
