SICK!!!! Flu crud!!!

I felt kind of under the weather yesterday. So I did not leave the house. I had the middle son do my chores for me. First time in years I missed doing them.

Then today it really hit hard. I have been in bed most of the day until about an hour ago. Now my back is sore from laying around.

The bathroom trips have been fast and frequent today. I hope that I feel better tomorrow. Also hope the wife does not get it as she has enough troubles without the flu on top of them.

The biggest thing is I can't eat anything and keep it down. So I am weak as a kitten. Water is about all that will stay in me right now.

I HATE BEING SICK!!!!! LOL

The darn shots did not seem to do much good this year.

I just got off the phone with my Navy sailor son. he has had the same thing for the last few days.All 15 members of his 'group' have been 'passing' it around.He is in SanDiego.

Wife got the head cold crud yesterday.

I know my future within a week..... Wife is the stronger one, doesn't often catch stuff.... Hopefully we have the milder head only version.

They said a school about 50-60 miles from here had 140 out for sickness, sizable percent of the student body.....

Its time has come, a little early this year.

Our son had the same stuff a few days ago... he stopped by here yesterday for a few minutes. Hope he didn't bring us any germs!!

Make sure you are at least sipping a little bit of broth, watered down juice or some Gatorade. If all you take is water -- it can give you an electrolyte imbalance... which can mess with your heart (as in possible heart attack - happened to a guy we knew... almost did him in). So keep on sipping something nutritious.

Get well soon! Experts on Telly said the vaccines makers guessed wrong on recipe for this year.
So this year shots has less of a chance to do good than other years.

There's been a news story going around that one of the flu viruses has mutated since the vaccination to the point the shot isn't effective for that strain. Given how easy it is for a virus to mutate its amazing the shot ever works.

Yes it has been going around Ia City. My daughter works at the elementary in Oxford. There were lots of kids out of school last week including hers.

Kinda of a 24 hour bug.

I had that same thing, started for me last Thursday and I really didn't feel like myself until yesterday (Monday). Still not completely back to normal. Immodium and Mylanta were very helpful to me.

Youngest Daughter brought it home from college last week (Forest City Iowa), gave it to Mom & Dad and Big Sis. Big Sis took it back to Michigan when she left. The Air Force convinced me I wasn't going to ever take a voluntarily Flu shot. Of the 6 years I was in the Air Force I managed to evade the Flu shot twice, quite possibly my greatest achievement in the Air Force.

The flu shot doesn't protect against intestinal viruses. The real flu is a respiratory illness.

Yep... sounds like this is Norovirus going around.

Actual influenza is fever, aches, cough - feels similar to pneumonia and can turn into pneumonia.

I've got the respiratory stuff. I had to work on the hydraulics on the loader tractor last night after chores and I thought I would die. Today I have laid low. I got on the tractor to fix the end of the drive where the road maintainer piled it up - that whiped me out. I thought I was in better shape than that.

Just lost a friend a couple of weeks ago from it. His turned to pneumonia and he was done.

My wife always says, go back 3 days and that is when you got infected. This is some bad stuff.
