It didn't have an hour meter that I could see. There was an automotive tach mounted on the console. Maybe somebody saw something I didn't see though?

$2100 for an IH 56 planter? I can and did buy a lot more planter than that for half the price. That is also the third time in two months that I have seen that auctioneer get over $5000 for a 7 shank Glenco chisel. I bought mine in a package with another plow but I guess $2500 is what I gave for it. Going to have to stop following that auctioneer. They have too rich a crowd following them these days. BTW...here is a link I been saving for you.

Had to pay $4500 for my 7 shank SS. Rare to find a smaller one around here, 9 and 11 are a little more common. Same price or a tad more.

Surprised at the lower prices some of you find for some of this equipment, good for you.

About 10 years ago they were giving away JD 494 and IHC 56 planters, now they are worth something again locally.

Well, specifically, I bought a 7 shank Glencoe soil saver, a 6-18 IHC 720 on land, high clearance plow, and a Bush Hog rock picker. $5000 for the package. Guy was tickled to get it all sold in one bundle. The 720 is a sweet plow. Covers just about anything on the surface but was a little tough on the 1586 this past wet Spring. I did not know if I would ever use the chisel but it actually saved me. It will pull thru most anything and really helped me get the ground opened so it would dry. Few days later I disked and planted. Nice to know I could get all my money back by selling just one implement. But I need the darn thing!

There are two on CL here tonight for $4000 and $5000. I'd have thought they were worth a lot more but I guess not.

rrlund, I take it that combine is what you were there for? I did not see the pictures of it, but for a 1969 to bring that kind of money, it had to be one nice machine. For some reason lately auction prices seem to be sky high, either that or I am extremely cheap... Never mind, I know I'm cheap... LOL.

I'm suprised a K is bringing much above $2500.

Wow on those prices ,,. ,, a decent weather day makes all the difference at a auction ,some of his other auctions did not price as well , it was humid ,hot , and sultry when we sold Moms belongings ,, good stuff but as the day wore on , it became a free for all ..

I guess it's location location location with a tad of condition, age and do people collect them? Well I'd think the scrap value would be substantial. Used parts value--I'm not sure about but I'd think there is money there too.

I don't rightly know much about combines except I've always heard they were really expensive.

Ya,that was what I went for. Scott said it was sharp, but saying it didn't bring it justice. They might as well have put plastic on the seat and sold it as NOS.

That looks like they bought it and parked it in the shed.... There can't be many hours of use on it at all.

Yeah, guys go to Arizona and drop $250,000 dollars on a Chevy Camaro Z28 or a Boss 429 Mustang so $8000 for a mint condition Gleaner K that can actually do some work for a guy might not be too bad of a buy when you think about it! It's all about what you like and what you don't like. Really, people pay big money for all kinds of trinkets that are actually worthless as far as being able to do anything with them. Guys will buy Babe Ruth's dirty baseball jersey for $100,000 dollars and hang it in the basement in a glass case to look at it. NOT ME! Or a baseball on a pedestal or a baseball card in a plastic display case for $8000. NOT ME again. Collectors of trinkets I will never understand. Buying something in mint condition and being able to use it and paying a premium price for it, I get that. That's just me.

My goodness, $7,600 for a '97 Ranger? I sold mine just like this (maybe better, mine was the big cab model) several years ago and was happy to get $3,000 for it.
