I cant really see the frame well enough to tell if it swells out like the G but the steering wheel looks like the big G steering wheel and the hood looks awfully wide for an A.

It does look bigger than an A ? I can't tell them apart without a good look at the frame.
Most say G so it may be.
Loader is NOT a JD. Might be a stanhoist brand.

That looks like a Horn loader which was eventually acquired by New Idea. They were mostly seen on Farmall H's and M's around here. Once in a while I've spotted them on WD45's and letter series JD's. The story goes the neighbor had one on a Oliver 70 many years ago.

The loader is a bit like a Horn-draulic that I have. Mine might be newer as the cylinders and rear fulcrum part are different. The bracing and things on the arms are identical.

from what i can see its a G., as the exhuast and air cleaner is side by side .
on the A they are one behind the other.

On the unstyled A they are also side by side. Not untill the styled tractors that they were in line. Better seeing with them side by side. And the 6 bolt front says G. A was only 4 bolt And that radiator is wider than the frame so that also says G.

Nice picture! Good photographer too - they had grandpa remove his hat and uncle tip his back so their faces wouldn't be shadowed. An old friend had a loader like that on his Farmall H. Thanks for posting the nice picture!!

Thanks everyone.. Ill pass the word to my mom.. this photo is in an old album with no verbage.. So now she can add some.. interest probably to me only but hey..I know he had a 70 when he died which sold to mexico for $300.00 back in 85.
