Geez, every time I talk about doing something out of the ordinary with a tractor,I catch the wrath of the devil. lol

Oh I know, that is how it is with me too... Been talking about putting a small block Chevy (we have 6 of them just sitting around the shop) in a Farmall C for a while... Just thought that it would be cool to really have a SUPER C. :)

My club hates the idea, they say that tractors HAVE to be original, but then they go and hang alternators off of them, and paint stuff the wrong color...

I like the idea, think that it would be a neat thing at plow day!! Bryce

Bryce,it's your tractor,do with it as you want!I'm kind of a 'poster child' for 'modified'(but not butchered). I have the F'12 with a 2.8 V6/and SC wide front; The reversed F-12/loader.Saw a JD 'G' with a 454 mounted sideways(really cool!) last year. And I'm considering a 305 GMC V6 in a MD.That kind of stuff is always interesting.People love em,and pay lots of attention at shows.....Just dont kill/butcher a running tractor, find a nonrunning 'junker'.Anybody can have that perfect 'factory' tractor.Only the special/'gifted' ones with immagination can 'make' the cool ones! Go for it!!

Bryce, Find yourself an old AC WC or WD they are real easy to hang a Chevy motor in as they have frame rails to mount to. Plus to motor is not part of the frame support.

Before restoring old tractors was so popular I had a Oliver 70 with a magneto. I couldn't find of keep good points in it. So, I put a 351 windsor Ford motor in it. It turned out pretty good. Wish I had taken some pics. It would pull 2-14 plow at an idle.
