Way OT- headphone jack adaptor

Someone here must know- I still have my beloved old Pioneer headphones I bought in Okinawa in '81. They have the big jack that about 1/4" in diameter. At one time I had an adapter for the 1/8' or so jacks on the old style Walkmans I think. The kids lost that. I'd like to find an adapter to use the headphones on my computer or speaker outlets. I have no idea where to look or what to look for. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

Any electronics store would have or try E-bay http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-5mm-1-4-Male-plug-to-3-5mm-1-8-Female-Jack-Stereo-Headphone-Audio-Adapter-/121400175864?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c4403acf8

Is there a Walmart in Ogdensburg? They have allot of that stuff. I know your up there somewhere. Don't know if that's close.

Tried there already Ed. Gonna have to find a Radio Shack, or better, order on line if I can find a fer sure item I need.

Hello Bret4207,

Why not buy a 3.5mm end and adapt it to the head phones harness. Even if you have to use small wire for the stereo plug to head set wires? One wire would be the ground, the other two the individual channels,

Guido.

I would, but I still use the headphones with my 1980's stereo so I need the jack.I'm sure there's an adapter I can find.

I used to have an adaptor plug like that, but don't have it anymore. I suspect that it left with one of the kids, never to be seen again.

like said, radio shack has them.
If there are any ham radio clubs or stores around you, they will toss you one.
BTW, when you buy one, make sure it is for stereo.
(stereo will have 2 black 'stripes/rings' on the prong, mono only one)

(quoted from post at 07:49:29 12/06/14) If you were replying to me, how did you know my middle name was Ed.

Ed at Crawler Heaven, right? We've done business and you told me to call you that. Sorry if I offended you.

Here is one on Amazon, the description is wrong but the picture is right. http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-MHE100-5...7879225&sr=1-21&keywords=3.5mm+to+1+4

Be sure to get one that has a cable on it, not a one piece one. The weight of the large plug and cable on the small jack will eventually cause problems with the jack. That information is form an old geezer that spent most of his life maintaining electronic equipment.

Makes sense, thanks!
