Approx value of goose neck trailer

28' 3-8000# axles. Wood deck, good e rating tires. Has drop down beaver tail and removalble ramps. Tool box. Will be repainting as it is faded and repacing the current lights with LED. May also install a extra 12 winch on the front yet before I sell. Just do not use it enought to justify keeping it. Any idea what it should be worth. Will be having the brakes new also.

Not nearly what you'll have into it by the time you get done with all your repairs. Better off selling it as-is and letting the next guy deal with the repairs.

I'm not up on current prices either, but don't spend any money on it to sell it. It's very unlikely you will get your money back on any repairs.

Less then 5000. I can buy a new 32 foot, tandem 12000, spring loaded flip down ramps, for under 6500.

Dave, I bought a 01 Kalfman, 20+5 dovetail, W/ 2 7500 axles, on Singles, in Spring of 12. P!ss Poor Paint, Floor-- Decent, Brakes good, tires good, not new. Gave 3K for it.
Your trailer will be worth IMO about $4500 +-, Depending on how it looks after all the work is done.
Here in Central Texas a 28 ft, Tri-axle trailer is Less Desireable than that 20+5, Tandem axle, Single or Dually!
Personally, I and every One I know would rather be a Piano player in a Gay Bar as Have to own or use a Tri-axle trailer!
You cant' replace it for what you have in it.
The way I look at it as long as I use it some and it only cost me tags and a little maintenance what ever I have can rust at my place than sell it and have to beg, borrow steal another the next time I have use of one!
It is Your trailer I think $4500 is a working point. But Take it by a local trailer place and get an appraisal on it to see what other local trailer guys think before you price it out too cheap. They might make you a good offer to have a good used trailer on their yard!
Hope this helps!

John A.

Paid $3,500 for about the same deal a few years ago at auction.

I'll second Jon- just make sure its functional, forget the LED lights, winch, and probably the paint job.

sell it like it is, by the time you do all that work to it you will have to ask a price that is near the price of cheap new, and a buyer will buy a cheap new trailer over a well made used trailer for some reason

In my area it might bring $3000-3500 as is and maybe a couple hundred more if you spent $500. Sell as is, Like Allan said the removable ramps will hurt you more than a dull paint job.

Here in MD that trailer would have to be state inspected before a license would be issued. Hal

4600 down here give or take. Maybe more for the third axle. Check out craigslist for the current prices in your area.

Hi as others said that 3rd axle is the biggest disadvantage other than detachable ramps. guys round here are long fed up with 3 axle problems and they don't sell, or not quick if they do.

Guys that put heavy use on trailers, I know are moving to dual wheels and 2 10.000 axles.
I would say in my area 2 axle that would a $6500 candian plus trailer depending on age and it's right. here 3 axle you might get $3000 or a bit more IF the right guy came along that needed it.
I was looking and guys wanted more for Beat.To.---- trailers!, than they paid in 2000 for them. I priced new in 2000 so know.
In the end I just quit looking and hire a nice trailer if i need it.

try a sensible price or Best offer as is, if you get it sell it if not keep it.
There are a few guys round here keeping them with 3 axles, or 2 axle, no beaver deck, or flip over ramps, and they re appear about twice a year at same over price in classifieds I watch.
Regards Robert

Nice fresh paint often hides nasty scars, so fresh paint will make some buyers wary. If your trailer is in good condition, I would not paint it, let the buyer see its true condition. You could offer to paint it after the sale for an additional fee, but the buyer will probably leave the paint as-is or paint it himself. The same goes for other repairs beyond making it road worthy.
