O.T. snow day

I live in Northeast pa. Got 5 inches of snow at 12:30 and supposed to get three more by evening.
At least its better than buffalo

Nowhere is better than Buffalo and Western NY. This area is God's little acre. There is more to do and see than you can do or see in a life time. The living is laid back and easy. Festivals every weekend. Friday fish fry. Hunting and fishing within minutes of Buffalo. Skiing and snowboard within minutes. Sledding and ice skating and ice fishing within minutes. The philharmonic, Indian pow wows and parks all over the place. Did I say boating? Sailing? Muskies, pike, yellows, perch, bass large and small mouth, sturgeon, all manner of salmon, trout, bear, beaver, deer?
Water so clear that on a calm day, you can see 30' to the bottom. World class falls and rapids. 2 major lakes within minutes. Farms and farm produce within minutes.
No traffic jams.
You get the idea. Nowhere is better than Buffalo.

Yeah, there is no traffic jams in Buffalo cause the cars stay at the houses cause they cant get down the roads. Was the blizzard of 77/78 worse than what happened in the last few weeks?

No, no blue crabs. I'd kill for some fresh blue crab. I was raised on the Wicomico river just a spit from the bay. But, I'll sacrifice and import my crabs. Summer average temps in Buffalo area, 78 and low humidity. We do have some crawfish but not enough to eat but, I'll buy them in the store for the great stream fishing.
You can only eat some many blue crab and then set there sweating from the heat and humidity.

That's flat not true. I live on an island in the Niagara river and in the worst of winters, we're driving in a few hours after the storm.
Blizzard of 77 was worse than this one. The 77 storm covered a vast area of this area. It took 3' of snow on the frozen lake Erie and blew it into the region. 27 died and Buffalo was locked down for a week or more.
Here, on the island, I got about 12' around the house and in the driveway. I was out and about 2 days later. It took a while to get the snow out.
This storm wasn't much, 2 days and the mains were opened. The area of the snow was limited. I'm just 4-5 miles north of Buffalo and we got 4".
Of course, I light off the JD with the grading box and 7' articulated plow and I don't much care how much we get as long as I have diesel to burn.,
No, the storms make life more interesting. You watch it fall and then you go out and play in it.

I woke up to about 1/2 inch of wet snow here at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Being another odd weather year since most years we do not see much if any snow before Jan.

At 7:30 tonight I measured 10.5 inches on the picnic table. It was still snowing but not as heavy as it did earlier.

UR right. We got the humidity thing going but I figure that's why God made beer. Not too far from the chesapeake and can be settin trot line in 30 min
