Dilemna: old snappers vs. dining table

Hi, don't get on here much anymore.
I am recently divorced, again, my choice.
I bought two olds Snappers from my Uncle's estate.
Best I can tell, the Briggs on the Rider is a 1950,
And the Wisconsin on the walk behind is a 1953.
Both mowers look ancient.
I measured, and I think if I have some friends
move the table out of the dining room,
I can place both these 'relics' in place,
rather than in the barn.
From what I researched, that Rider has to be
near one of their first models.
They will fit into dining room.
I really want them there,
or else I need to sell them.
If everyone thinks that's too crazy,
then I suppose I will just bust thru the wall
with my WD and park it in the living room, HAHA.
Have plywood to fix hole, WD has a loader.
Or am I just way too happy to be divorced again,
and none of the above?
I'm leaning towards the Snappers in the dining room.
I brought six of my chickens in, they got kinda messy,
thinking they can stay in the coop,
but I can enjoy these Antique Snappers.
Neighbor of mine, knows quite a bit of tractor history,
says he's never seen that early of a model of a Snapper Rider.
I think I need to bring it in the house, with the walk behind, too.
I don't think my dogs will mind a bit.
VOTES on this???
I am quite serious...
Thanks, any input appreciated,
Danny

GO FOR IT !

When I was growing up we ate all of our meals
in the Den. The Dining Room in my parents house
was WAY TOO SMALL for a family of five. Mom
used it as a "Display Room" where she displayed
her antique china hutch and her antique Cherry
wood Queen Anne folding table with chairs.

Doc :>)

Go for it. When my old lady left, I reduced my living space to a couple of rooms, and raised hogs in the rest of the house. Well, when I still had hogs that is. Worked out pretty good too, cause I didn't hardly ever have to go outside to do chores. After they went down the road, I put on a couple roll up doors. One on the family room, and one on the master bedroom. The Den is reserved for a work shop though. And the kitchen sink is now a parts cleaner. I never thought life could be so good till after she left.

Hi if it's like most small towns guys will be
talking behind ya back about you in the coffee
shop. So might as well give em something good
to talk about, Go for It!.

Had a guy came here once with a coffee shop
rumor bout me. I asked him about what was said.
He told me. Then i told him the truth. He said
what did I want to do.
I just told him he was the only one that new
the truth out side the family. it wasn't going
to bother me just run with the coffee shop
rumor.
it was way better than the truth and baffled
them clowns in the coffee shop for months.
Until somebody ran off with somebody elses wife
then they forgot all about it in a hurry.
Regards Robert

Drain the gas because any leaks will smell bad. But yeah, I like tractors inside where I can enjoy them. This was my Dad's Fergie. There are more in the "barn" area back behind the wall.

it will be ok,,,until,,,,,you get a steady girlfriend... and she does not like them in the house???? what then????? (this is a test)please reply,I cant wait to here your answer,,,,,lol

What you need to do is park the Snapper in the dining room, then build yourself a glass dining room table AROUND it. Encase it in glass with a nice big glass tabletop so you and your guests can look at it and enjoy it while you eat.

Your decision.
I wanted to tear down an Oliver 60,bring it in the house and reassemble it in my toy room, with no fluids in it of course. I thought, and still do,that it's a great idea. Unlike you,I'm still married,so I guess it ain't gonna happen.

Thousands of motorcycles have been built in the house. I did one in my den until my wife stepped on a metal chip. Just make sure you put down something on the floor in case anything leaks

I've suggested to my wife that one of my cars might rather live in the living room, instead of outside. She didn't find it funny (because she knows I'm not entirely joking). Or this one: "you have a shop -- why do you leave tools in the house?" Well, that would generally be because I'm in the middle of FIXING some part of the house.

Hi again,
had computer troubles,
else I would have replied sooner.
The votes are in, and I eyeballed a good spot
for the table.
I would actually like to 'cherry' these out,
so if they are in here I will probably get it done.
Maybe just keep them 'as found',
and as suggested, put a table top
or clear box over them.
I will have to have a neighbor take a pic,
but I will try to get them in soon.
Story n pics to follow...
Tho I've had (I'm told) over a dozen concussions,
but only remember eight cause I can't count past
eight anymore after that one,
I just wanted to make sure I was not'
'too off the wall'
I appreciate everyone's input,
and you all don't make me feel so different,
even tho I (and/or we) aint wrong.
Goin for it,
Thanks so much,
Danny

I once rebuilt a '74 VW engine (air cooled) in the kitchen. It was very cold outside and I needed the old VW back on the road quick. When I brought it inside and announced my intentions...of course the wife complained. I reached over and slapped her on the butt and told her to hush and get over there and make me a sammich! Dishwasher made a dang good parts cleaner too! Of course it only took me a couple of days to have it back together (nothing to those little engines, just bolt on some new jugs and heads and slap it back together) and preserve the peace in the house.

Well...
with a little help, I have the rider inside now.
Ya'll might like this, I remembered an old
green outdoor carpet I had, so I put it down first.
I don't have room for the walk behind, got to figure that out.
I would simply move an empty chest of drawers the ex
kept stuff in, but I already have my metal lathe on top of it.
Got to do some figurin for the walk behind,
got it to back door, now don't know where to put it, haha.
Hope to have some pics
soon.
Any input helpful. Should I move my lathe and chest of drawers,
maybe fit them in the living room or spare bedroom,
or should I put the walk behind in one of those places???
I'm happy I got the rider in, but where do I put the walk-behind???
The snapper lawn mower saga continues...
Danny

Hey everyone, good announcement:
The walk behind snapper is in,
near the rider, in dining room.
NOW...I'm thinking of some other stuff that would
be more handy in here...
ya'll may have created a monster, haha.
IF I should ever come out of 'hermit' mode
and date again, if she can't handle it,
she can't handle me.
I appreciate everyone's support.
More input still be appreciated...
Danny

OK, this may be getting old.
After Moving them in to dining room,
now I think I need to remove the china cabinets
so I can get some of my toolboxes in here.
Still ain't sure where to put the lathe,
That chest of drawers is in the way.
Even if I throw the stuff on the burn pile,
I'll still have a lathe to set somewhere,
and some of my memorabilia.
Decisions, decisions...
Got to heal up a few days for I take action again,
so we will see. Pics should be soon, I hope.
Ideas?
Thanks, Danny
