Any of you that have a numerous pieces of equipment especially those of us who maintain many pieces of the same model of vehicles and equipment.

Have you noticed that around or after a full moon that many of the vehicles or machinery develope the same problem. I'm speaking of alternators, batteries, broken parts, lights, tires, etc.?

old wives tales and superstition. Next we will be watching for moon dogs, sun dogs, wooly caterpillars , circling livestock etc.

Not sure the equipment follows the lunar cycles, but there must be something to the operators being affected.

Take a look at what's on the parts counter at the dealership. You'll find items typically related to operator error/abuse failure. Back in the '60's-70's the "three on the tree" shifters were a weak point. Go to get a shift tube or the cast collar right after the full moon... "Nope, sold the last three this morning!" LOL!

For me this weekend it was the gauge on the top left of the dash on our Ollies. On the 1855 that's the temp gauge, on the 1600 it's the gas gauge.

The 16 started working a minute or so later, the 18 still doesn't move. Hoping it's just the sender, but with so much to do yet and the weather brake on,I don't have much time to trouble shoot. It's cold out so as long as the radiator is clear I'm not worried about it overheating.

I've worked in parts for years. Not sure about the moon connection ? but things sure do seem to break in three's.

Used to see the same thing with Air raft when I was in the Air Force, when the weather would change from winter to spring we'd have a rash of engine failures, from spring to summer a run on fuel leaks. The fuel leaks really sucked as we only had 1 hanger we could work fuel leaks in so there were B-52's and KC 135's on de-rated mission capability stacked waiting to get into that hanger, mean while the FMC numbers fell an the Birds got real grouchy.

I'm glad you mentioned that things break in 3's. I was afraid if I said that people would think I'm crazy. But I've noticed that for years.
