Wapakineta Swap Meet

We went Friday and was going to stay for the auction Saturday, but the wife kinda froze out so we came on home. Didn't sell anything, but there sure was some darned good food that those women made. There were a lot of venders & I'm not sure we got around to visiting every one of them. Didn't buy anything either, really was surprised there wasn't more tractor related stuff. Most of what we saw was lawn mower and flea market stuff. There were only about 4 tractors for the auction at 8:00, looked at the J.D. A but the rears were in pretty stressed condition and we didn't have the trailer with us & didn't need another tractor, so came down the road without it LOL. Lester, I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet you, maybe next year. Keith

Ended up with 6 tractors in auction. That Deere I believe brought $1,900-$2,000. Power block with new pistons. It had been several years since I had made it to the fall swap meet and I was spprised to at all the flea market, craft items. When we started it, the meat was supposed to be limited to farm Items with no flea market-craft items. AS a long time member, first oginazion meeting I am dissapointed in that direction but I have no say in that.

Same thing has happened to an old car swap meet in my area- lots of craftsy and garage-sale type stuff that is of no interest to "car guys". Talked to one of the guys in the club that puts it on, and he said 2 reasons- Wives, and income. Lots of guys are pretty much led around by the ring in their nose by SWMBO, and if there's nothing there that interests her, they (he) don't go. Also, as antique car guys (and antique tractor guys) age out of the hobby, there were fewer exhibitors each year, so they punched up the income by renting spaces to non-car vendors.
