Jubilee Question

I just purchased a '54 Jubilee. I also have about every manual available but I can't or haven't found what one lever on the tractor does. This lever is on the left side just behind the starter housing where the serial number is. Could I have a Sherman tranny and this has something to do with it? Thanks

A 1954 is an NAA not a Jubilee. If it was a 53 it would be a Jubilee.
That said very likely it is a Sherman and if your real lucky a combo. Move it to neutral and then pull out side wise. If it comes out about a 1/2 inch then move it up and that says it is a combo so you have under over and standard gears

Thanks, I guess I didn't understand that only the '53 was the Jubilee but I understand why. So if I have the combo what does that mean? A high low transmission?

As I said that means you have under-drive as in low then the normal gears if it was not there and overdrive as in high. so you have 12 forward speeds. I have an 841S which came with the Sherman combo from the factory

I figured that's what you meant and have read a little about the over/under but wasn't sure. I appreciate your help. Have a good weekend.

The 53 and 54 are both NAA. Without the engine #,
who would know the difference and I don't what
you call it, they are the same tractor. However,
bet your rear, everyone will correct you for
calling a 54 a Jubilee. After a while, I laugh
when people post it, knowing they will be
corrected.

I have a Jubilee. For $50 YT sells the round
emblem and you can make yours a Jubilee if you
want.

My Jubilee has no lever on left side by starter.

Only left side lever on my tractor is the PTO.
under the seat.

Qestions about the NAA's are usually covered on
the N site or the Ford site. Mine doesn't have a
sherman.

George, thanks for the info. I'm ok with being corrected and should have figured that there was only one anniversary tractor year. I have seen that you can buy either the Jubilee emblem or the correct one for my year tractor. I plan to keep it as original as possible just because that's the way it was built. The seller advertised it as a '53 but when I got it and checked the serial # I learned it was really a '54 which is fine with me because that's the year I was born so my tractor and I now have something in common.
Thanks again
Bruce

both naa, but a few differences from early to late ones.

sn location, and pilto bushing vs pilot bearings. e tc.

odd stuff like that.

Soundguy,
My pilot or throw out talks once in a while. If it pilot bushing, can I replace it with pilot bearing?

As for SN, my jubilee doesn't have one. Some said the early ones had the # on the engine and my engine may have been replaced. So now do I have a Jubelee? What do they call the 54s? NAA

Is it really that big of a deal? Many think all 54s are jubilee and then they get jumped on instead of getting an answer to question.
George

NAA is the model.

they were produced in late 52, all of 53, and early 54.

consequently 52 and 54 naa are actually more rare than 53's :)

early units had the sn on the engine. later units on the bellhousing.

if you had an early one that had a bad engine, and got an engine from later stock, you'd have a unit with no SN. the chassis tells you it was an early unit.

if a later engine.. your flywheel likely already accepts the bearing. otherwise you could get it milled or get a new one.

I just call em all 'NAA' as they are ALL NAA, just some of them are from the jubilee year.

kinda like the series and model issue.

all 640's and 650's and 660's are 600s. all 600's are not 660's etc.. etc.

all jubes are naa.. all naa are not jubes.

What does the handle look like?
This one was a broken handle from a Sherman combo in a NAA.
