Farmall 200 brakes

I have a Farmall 200 and I'm in the process of doing the brakes. Does anyone have a breakdown of the brake assembly. Does the backing plate come off? I've always wanted a tractor and finally bought one. Thanks for looking.

No, the backing plate does not come off. It is part of the bearing carrier and you have to remove the bull gear from the inside to release it. (Otherwise bad things happen)

With all due respect to cowman he's mistaken.

Yes the bull pinion shaft retainer comes off, easily. Once you
have the drum, expander assembly off the tractor.

The only reason you would need to pull it is to resurface it or
the bull pinion shaft seal is leaking.

The retainer/back plate is a tight fit. I use 3 cold chisels evenly
spaced around and gently tap them forcing the retainer out of
the trans housing. Go slow and easy as the plate will break if
you force one side too much.

Get a parts manual. They're readily available on eBay.
Farmalls Super C and 200 are the same basic tractor. Super
C parts manuals seem to be cheaper and easier to find.
