Apparently the grass wasn't greener on the other side of the fence as it looks like tar lol....

I had a beef cow do the same thing many years ago. She was in heat and tried to get in the other pen with the steers. I found her at 5:30 a.m. in a massive thunderstorm in that same position. I ended up unbolting the gate to get her free. Quite a memory for me. LOL

Poor old girl. That doesn't look too comfortable.

One time years ago, we had taken James' daughters to the farm to visit the grandparents. They got an old bucket and were feeding grandpa's Brahma bull, Smokey, through the fence.

Being kids, their attention span wasn't too long. They tired of feeding the bull, put the bucket down a few feet inside the fence and started jumping on the trampoline.

Ole' Smokey couldn't stand seeing that bucket sitting there inside the fence and did just what you see in the picture.

Three adults exploded out of the den. I grabbed the kids and got them in the house. James and his dad grabbed some tools.

That bull just stood there quietly while they pulled the staples out and lowered the barbed wire until he could step back through.

Smokey was a good old guy and a good sized bull, too. He never was aggressive or bad tempered.

The kids didn't understand what all the fuss was about, but that situation could easily have headed south in a hurry.

We had that happen once. Cow was in heat. Welded gate hinges. Could not get the latch open on the other end. Got the torch out and cut the gate latch and hinges to get her out. Cows can be the dumbest and smartest animals known to man.

(quoted from post at 15:20:06 11/06/14) I was just thimking (dangerous thing) that that gate did not come from TSC......

True!

My BIL had 2 bulls. An enormous Holstein for his dairy herd and a little Herford for his beef. The Holstein was like a big pet. The Herford was about as mean as can be. He only had the Herford for one year before he turned it into hamburger!

Well now, that's whatchya call kind of between a rock and a hard place. (I agree with Nancy... OUCH)

Seen pigs get into some goofy situations too... but they can usually manage to wriggle free after a fashion.

I had a 1400# Holstein steer do that on the center gate on my cattle trailer. I finally had to pull the pins and drop the gate to get him down.
I added on to the top of the gate after that.
