The subject says it all. What office and good luck to all. For me I hold no office!!

Many yrs ago, got involved with the city council where I live. They were without a doubt, the meanest spirited, most racist people I have ever run across.

If I ever had any inclination to run for a city office, that experience ended it.

That is so sad. Good people do not seem to stand a chance. Either BIG money or a member of the club or both. Not much chance for real leadership it seems. So many POS people are running this country. Right into the ground...

County Commissioner. Unopposed.

Only other venture into public office was when I lived in town 15 years ago I ran for City Council. I survived the primary and lost the general election by about 5 points.

Have been an appointed planning commission member for almost 20 years. Will never run for elected office since I did inhale back in High School...

I once was a Co. Comm. in another state. Retired, moved back ti county of my birth. I will run here next year. Good people need to vote and to serve their communities!

Have had several friends wanting me to run for County Board.....I told them that would require registering to vote - and I DON'T need any of THAT garbage...

(quoted from post at 17:07:38 11/04/14) political office is the last refuge for the incompetent..,.what a shame

Spoken like someone without the backbone or character to run and try to improve things instead of just sitting around sucking on a beer complaining. All that is required for evil to flourish is for good men tostand by and do nothing.

Probably 30 years ago I served a total of seven years in town government, in three different positions. The only way I would do it again is if fully retired. And if fully retired, I can't imagine staying around in this wretched NY weather.

I was president of our local school board for 10 years. apparently I didn't explain the job well enough, my daughter-in-law is running for her third 4 year term. I am REALLY proud of her. I didn't learn much myself, I serve on four different county boards now. I think if I can help out, I need to do it.

And in what capacities have you served your community?

Where I live. the village board members get elected by write in.

It only takes about three votes and your in.

I'm on the board of directors for our electric co-op. Serving my 4th 4 year term, the last election I was un-opposed.

I went to the polls this morning and the fellow outside campaigning thanked me for voting, said you vote does make a difference, I sure know that. Two terms ago we had political differences on our board and a fellow tried to unseat me, I campaigned hard and won by 4 votes.

Served 12 yrs. local school board. 20 yrs. local fire chief. Past pres. county cattlemans assc. Keeps me busy. Steve

Spent a good share of my life working for pro-Second Amendment issues. Ran in my party primary for Town supervisor 3 years ago. Wife had back surgery at the time. Did almost no campaigning and the vote was close, but no cigar.
