I have no idea how to set my rockers lifters on my 38B. I'm familiar with the parts but don't know how to get all 4 set right!

I worked for a Deere dealer years ago,and this is how the factory service rep said was the best way to do it on the older worn units. This took in consideration the wear on the shaft and the irregular surfaces on the rocker arm/valve stem. Loosen the nut, turn till you feel no slack. Turn the nut 3 flats and that will give about .020 and then hold it and tighten at this setting and it is usually good to go.

4 rockers and 38 B says it is a long frame unstyled John Deere tractor as 4 rockers means 2 cylinders and Deere was the only B made with a 2 cylinder engine.

[are you referring to the push rod cups to turn to get to .020?
