Canada sucks!

South winds today 30 mph. Gusts up to 41. Sitting in line with my truck at the elevator. Scale about 128,000 and the wind rocks it like it was empty. Luckily my haul is going north with the wind so won't even attempt to roll the tarp. Just keep the grain low in the hopper and take her easy. I think the husks and cobs coming out the back of the combine are landing a quarter mile away.

Storm was coming in on a Friday evening had a load of beans on the semi thought better tarp it before it rains. The wind caught it just after flipping it over before I could roll it under the lip. I held on didn't want to rip the tarp. Lifted me about a foot off of the ground and slammed me hard into the side of the trailer. I never let go and got it latched down between gusts. Never tarped it in the wind after that :)

Friday 20+ foot waves were being reported on Lake Michigan near Chicago.

It was about forty years ago this month that the ore carrier Edmund Fitzgerald sank on Lake Superior.

We always say the wind is blowing
but I was taught that the noise of the
air moving is actually a big sucking
sound as air rushes into a region
where a vacuum has been created,
therefore the region north of me
(Canada) sucks. Nothing personal
against the neighbors to the North,
just a play on words.

Yabbut, they give all that wind back when they send down those Alberta Clippers during the winter!
