Electric stove problem

I have a Whirlpool electric stove that the other day the front left burner just died while I was using it. The heat light turns one when I turn the knob but not heat at the burner. This is one of those Glass/Ceramic top stoves. It went out at a bad time also since I had Strawberry Marmalade cooking on that burner.
So anybody have any ideas if this can be fixed and how to lift up the top so I can have a look see if maybe it is a bad wire. So far the cheapest I have found a replacement stove is $200 and don't really have that
Thanks

wife says our daughter has a glass top stove and has replaced burners a couple times, I have no idea how. Our old Kenmore stove had a couple burners that worked part of the time. Went to a local shop, they were able to not only get new burners but also the part the burners plug into. Those were in bad shape too. But that's the old style burners.

The whole top should come up, glass and frame. You might have to remove some screws hidden by the oven door and the control panel. After that you can flip the whole top over and see the wire and the elements under the glass. I had my Maytag apart trying to troubleshoot a burner that would heat irradically.

Almost as easy as the old coil top elements.
A few screws to lift the top up and replace element from below.
Nothing more than a coiled up spring like element in a holder.
Probably a half hour job.
New element on e-bay was less than $30.00 a few years ago.
