Here's some pictures of Delaware County New York dairy barns, the rustic one was where I grew up. The farm with the yellow house was my old neighbor and was a dairy of distinction. Maple Shade farm was host to an event called Taste of the Catskills today. Thanks for looking. -Greg

Nice pictures. I love old barns and the countryside in that part of New York looks great.
Had to be a nice place to grow up and live.

Leo, was a good place to grow up but my old farm is now owned by a couple from New Jersey. There are still dairy farms in operation in the area but also a lot of second homes for urban families and NYC is over 4 hours away. Greg

Loren, I could take a few more day's like today before winter. Had a great day with my wife and daughter who are my photographers my clumsy fingers on that little camera just don't work. LOL Greg

Beautiful old barns. That last scene looks like it should be on the front of a card or calendar.

Thanks to you, your wife and daughter for some great photos.

Thanks Sweetfeet, I believe that farm was on the Farm Journal website a few years back as a winter scene. Once the weeds die off I found a couple old Farmalls sitting by a barn only a few miles from my bosses house I will post some pictures soon. Greg

Two weeks ago Sat. The wife & I went on a barn tour in SW Iowa. There were 66 barns across Iowa that were part of the Iowa Barn Foundation. I am a barn fan to the core. I know there is a lot of negative talk about tattoos on this board but I have a tattoo of a barn & silo & farm yard on my right shoulder. Thanks for posting the barn Pics.

gmcool, thanks for the reply the couple that own my old barn have been fixing it up stuff I could not afford like the barn roof. My son was born in the house in 1987 and he grew up in Gaston South Carolina with my ex. He moved back and now lives only a few miles from where he was born. Greg

Looks like a nice day there.

It was supposed to be nice here until tonight, but drizzled most of the day. We wanted to set up augers, but no one really wanted to climb up on top of the wet bins. At least we got all the equipment moved to the correct starting place.

David, it rained a little last week but we need more. The last couple weekends I have been helping local farmer with corn silage so hope to get done before the rain comes. Greg

Thanks for the photos! I am a barn lover also. It's good to see that there are still a lot of old barns being cared for. Here in central NC, some of the cities have grown so fast in the past thirty or so years that they have gobbled up a lot of farms. It was sad to see the old barns and other buildings being bulldozed to "make room for progress". On a more positive side, they built a new high school in our county a few years ago on what was once a farm. The old barn was only a few hundred feet from the school building. The FFA instructor and members talked them into leaving the barn and turned it into a classroom, so to speak. They raise several animals and keep them there for "a hands on" experience.

Thanks for the reply. I think if I didn't have ag class and FFA in school I would not of graduated. My father jn law lives in Murphy NC hope to visit again soon was nice their last November. Greg
