I will be going Monday morning to look at a old Deutz 6006. Does anyone know if there are any trouble area with a 6006 I should check out? I
don't know much about air cooled diesels.

You must keep the cooling fins on the engine clean, or it will cause it to over heat, and result in premature engine failure. When working in dusty fields , it is a good idea to blow them out everyday.

Pretty bullet proof tractors. Like Bruce posted check out the cooling fins. The rest of the tractor would be just like any other.

A Duetz 6006 is rugged but kind of clumsy on turning and controls.

I have a 1978 6806 with over 8,000 hrs on it ,we bought new...never had a problem with it..but it doesn't like the cold weather...just keep the cooling fins clean and be sure to check the fan belt often.
