Advice on tractall pedal tractor

Hi guys,
I recently purchased a Tractall pedal tractor. was thinking of
having it professionally restored.my friends here locally are
divided 50/50 on restoring it. . I have a pic of one in a
pedal tractor guide made in Buffalo ,NY,and was told it is
probably from the late 30's or early 40's.Any thoughts
welcome.Thanks glenn

If you bought it for your [kids & grands] enjoyment
restore it. But if can destroy the value as a
collector piece.

that's true, it all depends on what you plan to do with it, it will look nice all shiny and fixed up, but you can buy a new one for less than what it cost you to restore that one, if its going to be ridden there only original once, and if that thing is anywhere near decent looking don't touch it, other than a good cleaning, if your looking for collector value

Do more research on the value of the unrestored tractor. Sometimes it might pay to buy a newer one at a sale and leave the antique stuff for display only and with original paint. Of coarse without pics it is hard to tell [and I am not a pedal toy expert. I did a Fire Chiefs car with red lacquer and gold leaf lettering with the kids name. It was fun but the car is probably made in the late 1980s .Also instead of having it all restored by one guy : disassemble all you can and just have a body shop shoot the paint for you. Did you ever see some of the prices that guy Rick throws out on American Restoration. Most exceed the sales value of the finished restoration.
