Good weekend

We put up about 40 acres of hay this weekend, it is all done for the year.

My little Farmall H raked about 20 acres of the hay this weekend. I am really proud of it and know my dad is smiling down at it.

I got the loader working on my Ford 6610 with the new CCLS valve.

In my neck of the woods the best hay of the year Was put up in the past few days. Looks like my beans will go tomorrow, along with most of the area surrounding me.

We only have hay and corn this year. It is easier doing all of the same crop with 180 acres of row crop.

The corn is a long maturing variety, which worked out well with the rain the last few weeks. Ours was packing starch when the other was dying.

Been so dry down here that I tried to do a 2nd cutting and got 3/4 of a bale from what should have been 10 plus bales. About all the rake did was throw up dust and almost not hay

There is corn in the mid to high 20 percent range around here. A couple of fields of corn are harvested but they were on lighter, well drained soil.

We will come back next year if you get enough rain to keep lake flushed out. I do not like to boat in a drought, water is not safe to be in.
