861 Hydraulic Lift will not raise correctly

My lift will not raise or start to raise until a full up position is requested via lift control. It then raise full up even with a substantial load. Does anyone have a good starting point as to where to look for the problem and corrective action?

There is a little pin that rides in a groove inside the rear end.
When it wears down over 50 years, you have what you are
describing.

Once you open it up and dig down to it, then how much do you
fix and refurbish in there..... ;)

Either the Position/Draft lever is in the Draft position or, more llikely, the cam follower pin is badly worn.

Remove the lift cover, replace the cam follower pin and readjust the draft and position control linkage per the "alternative procedures" (no special tools required) in the I & T FO-20 manual.

Replace the lift piston O-ring and back-up washer and thoroughly clean the sump while the lift cover is off.
