illinois price for diesel 389 ,3 miles down road in missouri 339 good thing ill economy is so much better to justify that much price difference

parade in town tomorrow. yesterday I put 5 gallion of diesel in my tractor. it was $3.89 for highway diesel.

Seen gas at 3.399 and diesel at 3.999 in Syracuse NY yesterday.
On top of lower gas prices I got better MPG when I bought outside NYS.
Pa or Ohio were my travel area.

This is a little off the topic but I just paid 3.99 a gal for home heating oil. It just don't seem right. I am in NH. reg. gas is 3.39 on average here 3.89 for diesel.

Gotta be a tax thing or something. When we went to Alabama in early August, gas there was as low as 3.02. Up here in Michigan it was in the high 3.40s.

Paper said last night about 30 states in lower 48 will see 3.00 gas in 60 days or so,partly from increased production here at home.

In Minnesota home heating fuel is or was about 20 cents a gallon cheaper than pump price diesel fuel. Have not bought any for a few years so do not know exactly what it is now. I asked the heating fuel guy why it was only 20 cents cheaper and he told me there is more profit in heating fuel.

No problem to buy 87 under $2.95 here and been like that over a month. On road diesel is starting to pop up in places for $3.34 -$3.40. And you always have places that refuse to lower the price anytime. and some of them are still near $4 for gas or diesel. Here's a link on fuel tax for each state. Last year our gas tax was lowered and more added to diesel.
gas tax by state

I can't get off road diesel unless I buy at least 150 gal. No one will delivery less than that anymore.

Here in south central Ne. The little fuel suppliers have been bought out by the larger ones. Then they closed the small dealers.

Now, if I order fuel the truck has to come at least 40 miles to get here.

Before you get too excited:

National gas prices January 2009 was $1.84. Let me know when they get anywhere near that.

I don't know about diesel, but gas prices in Terre Haute and falling. Gas is $3.19 It's dropping about $.03/day. So why?

We pay the "Livingston County Premium" here in Howell. One distributor owns a bunch of stations here, plus supplies some more. In some cases, they own "competing" stations on both sides of the road. We regularly pay .20 per gallon more here, than in neighboring counties.

Our house guest from New Zealand just before they flew here paid $7.12 for highway diesel and $10.14 for gasoline .

That's New Zealand for you. They can talk to their government. Try shipping something to New Zealand. Same package that costs $35 to send to Brisbane, Aus. cost $160 to send to Christchurch because of their closed system. Excellent example why to steer away from the choices their government made. Beautiful place but peculiar place to do business with and her citizens are the ones who take it on the chin.

Up here a couple of the "big shot" gas station owners get together every Monday morning and decided what they are gonna set the price at. If anyone else doesn't comply they send to it that the station owned doesn't get his delivery of fuel, just like the mafia!

Any chance I get I buy fuel in fargo it's at least $.20 cheaper if not more.

1.08/L for marked diesel and gas on Vancouver Island. A bit more on the mainland unless you're buying huge voulumes.

Flembo, You need to shop around. Who are you buying from? Fred Fuller? I just got a fill up at $3.40 from Buxton oil in Brentwood. discounts brought it down to $3.15/gal. Diesel can be found for $ 3.63.

Forgive my sarcasm, but "still not bad?"

If and when it gets back down to the $1.80 range again, then I'll say "Not bad".

On Road diesel is $3.579 (Valero)three miles south of me and $3.429 (Sunoco)five miles north on the same highway...go figure!
