High Crop HV Restored

I just drove my completely restored ground up Farm All High Crop HV tractor. I am thrilled with it and I am trying to find a fair market value for it for insurance purposes. I have looked through YT but cant find an HV comparison. Any wisdom/help appreciated!

WoW a High crop (that is rare around where I live). Did you ever think about getting it apprised. Can you find an appraiser that is close toyou who might tell you how much it is worth. I can tell you that it is worth more than the regular model. I have only seen two of those around my area but that is because they are tomoto farmers. brent

I have never heard of such a thing as a "tractor appraiser." I will go so far as to say there is no such thing.

Figure out what you have into it as far as parts at least, if not hours of labor. You will never get that much back out of it but if insuring it for that amount is affordable, it would be the way to go.

Oh yes there is. Went thru a divorce and ex had an
appraiser come and put a price on my tractors while
I was gone. $125 tractors were $1250 when he got
done. $500 ones were $2500. Course my lawyer
wouldn't dispute it. Cost me a butt load!

Well, I think the bigger question is how much do you want to insure it for. HV's are more rare. Even with that said, the difference between tractor value, and what you got invested (including your time) could be drastically different numbers. Think of it in these terms. If it burnt up in a fire tomarow, how much would it cost you to replace it? How much of that do you want to be covered by insurance? Talk to your insurance agent, I'm sure he wouldn't have any problem insureing it for whatever amount you want.

On RFD TV there is a show "Machinery Peat" he goes to auctions and keeps records. He has a website and answers questions on tv show and by email. Also Mecum auctions have a show on RFD also. They have tractor auctions all over the country, next one in Iowa November 7,8.They publish results. You may have to regester.
After opening link click on tractors at the top. And then on results>

Thanks very much for the good info. Just to share the results, evidently Mecum never sold an HV (none on any other their listed auctions) and Machinery Peat has evidently witnessed five sold but he wants $18 for a minimum weeks subscription.

Im looking for replacement value but that is hard to figure and without a basis the insurance company will take a premium for some number but they will never pay out.

Maybe I gotta take an $18 loan from my daughter…

Thanks very much guys! I tried to post some pics but couldnt figure how to do it.
