Hey Randy,

Got the bearings for the 1850 a couple days ago. Asked Jeff if he wanted to tackle that today. He say, "Well, gotta tackle something. The 1955 sprung a leak in one of the steel oil lines under the fuel tank this morning." Yup, looks like it's gonna be tractor fixin' day. Oh well. I was sick of cutting firewood anyway. (chuckle)

At least it looks like I can braze the line without pulling it outta the tractor.(I hope)

Lets see. Braze an oil line under the fuel tank, without taking it off the tractor. What could possibly go wrong? LOL

Could be like the Ford I looked at. Somebody had put a spark plug in place of the shutoff under the tank. It was starting to storm and the guy at the dealer was panicking about getting that out of there before he lost the front of building and several potential customers.

(quoted from post at 19:12:45 09/12/14) That is what I thought....famous last words? lol

Actually, I misunderstood Jeff. It was the two PS lines up side the radiator. Unhooked the line on the PS clyinders, darined the oil, cleaned it and brazed it. Even where the lines go under the fuel tank they are 15 inches away from the tank. It also diesel, not gas. had a fire extinguisher and a couple of pails of water handy.

Got the old bearing neddle bearing cage out of the front end of the 1850 without having to tear half of the tractor apart. Should get that together tomorrow. So probably the better part of another day shot. Gonna rain anyway. The firewood can wait another day.
