I heard that Direct TV might drop RFD TV after the merger with Time Warner and Comcast
I get it on Dish, and they went through the same scare a year or two ago
Do any one know the latest on the subject?

You can always go to their website and look around for what they have on the subject. Here's one page on it.
RFD

Very rarely has anything I'm interested in. It used to have more tractor / rural content, but it pretty boring now.

It seems a lot on the tv used to be good programing but they seem to want to put garbage on after while and then expect you to buy other channels with more interesting things to watch...I guess its good marketing "strategery" lol....

I could listen to polka music all day long.
Polka music is happy music for happy people.
One of the reasons I liked to travel in Minnesoda and the Dokatas were back in those days a lot of radio stations up thar had polka music.

I never miss the mecum tractor auctions, classic tractor fever or machinery pete.

They are the only shows on dish worth watching in my opinion.

I find machinery Pete's farm auctions very interesting. I can't see why all those farms have so many nearly new tractors with so few hrs. other states must have less property tax than nebraska.
It is very hard here to find a tractor less than 20 years old. JD dealer doesn't even have any new tractors on the lot.

I have become very disapointed with RFDTV. Their focus has turned from farming to all things "horsey", plus way too many reruns of HeHaw and 1/2 hr. comercials to promote CDs of old time country music and "Carabien Cruses"
All stuff related to tractors and machinery air when I am working or after midnight when I need to sleep. Farm shows such as Ag PHD throws so many namebrands at you, you can' begin to remember them, and I could care less about farming in Georgia. Family Net is now airing Archie Bunke here in prime time.
I don't tune into RFDTV much, anymore, and if they don't make the cut, it will be no big loss to me.

About the only channel I watch is RFD and I have Direct TV. But I"ll start watching the Walking Dead on another channel when it starts up again.

About all I watch on RFD is the Saturday night country, bluegrass, and polka music, and the tractor stuff. I"m disappointed in the Polka Party now because the foundation of polka music is accordion, drums, and tuba, and most bands have dumped the tuba in favor of a bass guitar or no bass at all. BORING. It"s just not polka without the oom pa.

What I"d like to watch on RFD would be a bunch of 30-minute segments of sitting in a combine harvesting wheat or corn, or on a tractor plowing or discing. With a camera mounted on the operator"s head, seeing the view out front, out the sides, checking the gauges, etc. from an operator"s vantage point. Now I could watch that stuff all day and hear the noise and feel like I"m out in the field. And I wouldn"t get wheezy from all the dust.
