A few pics from up in the woods today.

Took a little time to "smell the roses" while cutting fire wood today. The trees are starting to turn, and fall is on it's way. I thought the old rotten stump was nifty, and I haven't seen a walking stick in several years. This one has a body about 4" long. We have turkeys everywhere, and I did manage to block and split at least another cord of wood.

Looks good. Nothing beats being in the wood in the fall. I believe I will visit my wood lot tomorrow. Not to cut wood but to sit and recharge my mind.

Really enjoyed the photos! The pic of the stump is one of the most unique I have ever seen! It looks as if someone placed the mushrooms there. (Well, maybe someone did, really. Know whut I mean, Vern?)

Those sure are Great pics Bro!! I see more of your country every time you post! sure is nice to see the places you tell me about on the phone!
thanks for posting!! I dug the last few White Sweet Onions and a hill of taters tonight, looks like I shorted that hill on water

No working anywhere around my place lately, got 6.2"of rain over the last couple days. Everything is flooded again.

Dam Jon, You seamed to have picked the wrong year to start farming again. Rain has been real spotty here. Flooded roads and land in one spot and nothing a couple miles away. Storms have not followed any typical patterns or tracks all year.
Loren.

Hey bro,
Looks like you can have some nice deep fried onion rings, but them fresh cut french fries are goung to be hard to pick out of the dish.

You are right with those taters for sure Bro, I do have a half a bucket full of bigger ones I keep for myself, I also have Walla Walla Onions that are Huge, they are a big as a grapefruit for the most part and eat like apples! Thank You for the heads up on drying them!!

We were in the woods yesterday cutting wood also. Late spring and early fall are the best time of year. Helps one to relax and unwind a bit, doesn't it?

Don,
My dad loved the woods. He went there any chance he got. Growing up, I never really understood why. Know, I know why, and share his pashion to distance myself from the day to day hubbub, and just enjoy the simple things that most people never associate with.
