Rust Kutter brand..any good? Paint over it?

Looking for something simple, safe and easy to stop surface rust on old equipment. sand, grind, spray and paint. Would like to be able to paint over it. Anyone have experience with this stuff for simple, easy, and not too fancy work?

Must for Rust, worked well for me. Spray on let dry, when your ready to paint just rub a scotch pad over it blow off and paint. Mayn not work on cast. gobble

There are a bunch of different products that are primarily phosphoric acid, which will convert the rust that it contacts to inert iron phosphate. It can not eat through a lot of scale so you still have to clean most of the rust off and follow instructions. Ospho seems to be one of the most popular but you can also get milkstone cleaner at a dairy supply or limescale remover from a restaurant supply, for a lot less money.

I use Ospho with great results also provides a solid base for the paint
