One week to go

In a week we will fly into Denver and start on our 2014 road trip. We plan to do the Salt Flats for a couple of days then work our way up to Canada as far as Edmonton then east and south again to Winnipeg, down into North Dakota then east again as far a Toronto then south to Baltimore so all in all about 5000 miles. We are really looking forward to seeing some wonderful sights as well as meeting some lovely people. Im guessing the temperatures will change a good few degrees as we move around so will need tee shirts as well as jackets and warm things.

I'm about 185 miles SW of Winnipeg, in ND.

If you are passing near here, lunch and a tractor/machinery museum visit is on me!

Get off the interstate highways every so often, see some of the older highways and older towns.

Bill, I'm about thirty miles north of Baltimore near the Pennsylvania line. Let out a holler if you get near and have some time. My email should be open, also....

Hi Bill; We are about 2 1/2 hrs west of Toronto. Lots more to see here than in "the big smoke"

Bill,Since you will do I70 west to SaltLake(best route)When you get to GrandJunction,co.,I'm only about 50 miles from there at Delta.Would love to meet, have coffee, share a meal.....Call me,We could meet you in GJ if you didnt want to come over.Call us. (970)417-1178 cell,(970)874-3973 home. Steve

If you dont want I70, then I25 north to Cheyenne then catch I 80 straight west to SaltLake. Safe travels.

Bill I don't know your route to Toronto, but if you are crossing Minnesota. Try to stop in Duluth and drive up the north shore of Lake Superior. Although it might be hard to find hotel accommodations this time of year. A beautiful part of the country with friendly natives.

Have fun! If there's time in Baltimore, the Baltimore and Ohio railroad museum has some historic iron. It was the first railroad in the USA.

Sounds like you will be passing by the Taber Alberta region which is where I am from. Intense irrigated farming area around here.

Two things I hope you get to see in Alberta--The Reynolds Museum, Wetaskiwin and the Dinosaur Exhibit, Drumheller. Both are excellent. Many very rare tractors at the Reynolds Museum and a fantastic dinosaurs at Drumheller. Both are near Edmonton. Have a great trip.
