All thru for the year. Now I gotta haul all that stuff in to the stack yards (hope to have room). If I get 'er all in by Thanksgiving, I'll be happy.

I'll be lucky if we get some weather for haying by Thanksgiving. I put new knives and hold downs on the haybine today so she's ready to go if I get a chance. I finished hauling oat straw home today. I hate to start a different project, but it doesn't look good weatherwise through next week.

How many rolls did you make? What size? How many can you move at a time? We only make 100-150/year of the small Hesston size rolls, so I don't have much perspective.

That's the easy work......

Bale count is somewhere north of 800 bales. They are six foot plus bales and will probably weigh between 1175 an 1300 lbs. Went thru a slug of twine this year.

I can carry 8 on my sled; any more than that and it starts blowin' tires. Average run is 5 miles, so I'm looking at 500 miles of tractor time before they are in the yards.

Do you mostly use them for your own stock, or do you have a market to sell some hay? Seems like there wouldn't be a huge market out in the wide open spaces. James Howell commented that their rolls went begging for $15 apiece, which is only slightly better than giving it away.
