This poor fella has had to get off the couch three times today to go outside in 98 degree heat. Life is just not fair.

We haven't hit 90 yet this year either. They say there's a chance Monday. The heat index Saturday is supposed to be 90-95 though. Sounds like a great day to be pitching bundles in to a threshing machine doesn't it?

It doesn't have to be in the 90's for mine to be sleeping like that. He's doing that right now on a recliner in the den.

This is what it was like yesterday when I opened up my shop when I got home from work. Been this way all week with no rain to speak of for almost 2 weeks here at my place. But that's typical Florida weather either it's raining 2 inches every afternoon or it's not raining at all. And to keep it on topic that big shop dog of mine is at this moment laying on his big dog pillow in the house soaking up the AC. I don't think you could drag him outside. lol

I had to go up to the top floor of the fertilizer plant I work in today to look at a small conveyor belt that my maintenance mechanics have to change out tomorrow. I always carry a small infrared thermometer with me to check bearing temperatures on the rotary vessels when I'm in the plant. When I got to the top floor I shot the temp on a hand rail and it read 107 degrees!. I told my guys that I didn't care if it took all day to change the conveyor out ( should take about 4 hrs) nobody better fall out from heat exhaustion! didn't care if they had to work over time on it I wasn't writing up a safety incident report on a single one of them!!

When I was in Alabama two weeks ago it was in the low to mid 90s. Didn't much enjoy that kind of heat when I definitely wasn't used to it.

Otis the weiner dog is an outside dog during the day, but inside at night. Sleeps on his back sometimes...
