small square bale feeder

Do any of you feed small square bales out of a feeder? I am gonna feed small squares to my calves this winter and want something I can put a whole bale in. I have looked at pictures of feeders on Google but was wondering if you guys had any pictures of what you use.

I have made several that are similar to Dick's feeders. Here is a picture of one that is just about exactly what I have.

May I suggest adding about three or four vertical bars across the fronts of your feeder, if you make them like JD's and Dick's. My old neighbor warned me (and I ignored his warning) that I'd lose an animal in my similar feeder. Sure enough, one morning I found a nice fat heifer on her back in the feeder - dead. Apparently another heifer had butted her into the feeder and she couldn't get out. After adding three or four #4 re-bars across the front sides, I've never lost another one. My neighbor always gave me good advice - I don't know why I didn't pay attention that one time.

I don't have any pics but when we had sheep the main feeder that I built for indoors I used what they called hog panels for the slanted parts that they pull the hay through. They are made of 1/4 or 3/8 rod stock welded together then galvanized. We used them for about ten years and they never bent.
 
I have seen guys make feeders out of old hog farrowing
crates. the round bale feeders set at an angle when a cow
turns her head the jaw opens weird but true thats why
feeder bars are at an angle. check google images
 
I don"t have pictures either but I"m sure you have seen the rear
tractor tires turned inside out for silage feeders. I added 2x4
uprights about a foot apart all the way around. Just bolted
each one with two bolts. One near the top rim and one down
where the tire bulges out. Works very well and very little
waste.
