Diesel Fuel for Kubota

Just got a Kubota tractor. We only need small amount
of diesel about 5-10 gallons at a time. Don't want
to use bio-diesel but not sure what gas
stations(such as BP, Casey's etc) sell.

It's just over the highway diesel,it will be fine.Or you could find a bulk plant and run off-road diesel your choice.highway green,off-road red.

Anything from BP or Caseys will be over the road and fine. You don,t want Bio if you can help it. As a dealer one of the most frustrating warranty issues I have is : Customer loans his new Kubota to dad and dad picks up an old can half full of water or whatever and puts in the tractor. Customer calls hey my tractor is no running right. When we have to spend two hours cleaning filters and tank in a new tractor it is hard to tell him it is not covered by warranty. Get you some clean cans and KEEP then clean with fresh fuel.

It"s just about impossible to find non bio diesel. That said, not all bio diesel is the same. Casey"s has animal fat in their diesel making it useless in cold weather in my experience. Last winter I could hardly put enough anti gel in it to not gel up. I called around locally and found that a couple large Co ops only have soy based bio and no animal fat. As soon as I started fueling at the co op I had no more gelling problems.

All diesel sold in Minnesota is 2-5% bio! one of the best moves they made.

With the sulfur out, I sure wouldn't want to run non-bio.

Of course, I wouldn't want to run 50% or so bit - a couple percent, good stuff.

I thought most people were using a couple percent blend as a substitute for sulfur?

I buy dyed off road diesel in 6 gal cans at my local Marathon dealer for all of my diesel equipment, including the Kubota.

I am lucky, I can buy diesel without bio from an Amoco dealer out of Heyworth, IL. I screwed up my 435 with bio that turned to pudy, NEVER again. I also can buy premium gas without ethnol at FS in Monticello, IL.

I like ethonal for nonantiques but most bio is not distilled down twice to get the junk out.
