Jumps out of 3rd. Gear

This is a DO MOR tractor with a Funk-A-Matic transmissiion. One foot pedal for reverse an other pedal for forward. I am going to try and put a few pics of the shifter. The shifter lever goes into 4 gears. 1-2-3 and 4th. I have to hold the lever in 3 rd. gear with my foot.
Any ideas of what I should be looking for in here?

"Funk-A-Matic" transmission? Really? You're not just pullin' our chain, are ya?

Note to self: My name is Funk. Must remember not to name ANYTHING I make after myself.

We had Funk-o-Matics in some Lion Liftall forklifts in the '70's. But I think the 4 speed it used was a Warner T98. But typically they develop worn, sloppy bearings and thrust washers, and if applicable , the synchro blocking ring and cone gear .
Incidentally , That is the same Funk Mfg in Coffeeville Kansas that that made the Funk V8 conversions for the old Ford Tractors. See Mike , Something to be proud of !!

I should add that on the model of F-R box we had , the clutch plates and steels were the same as the C6 Ford automatic trans, No need to reinvent the wheel !! LOL

LOL, I wondered that too. Maybe its like the "Bass-O-Matic" from Saturday Night Live that Dan Aykroyd advertised.

Thanks Dalex-----So the 4 speed gear box may be a Warner????? 3 rd. gear is the only one that jumps out of gear. I can keep it in 3 rd. if I hold my foot against the shifting lever.

If it's a Warner , It'll have a big number cast in the side , like T9 , T19 , T98 etc.....Since they are still in Business , call 'em and see if they remember....
