I had an old Alice 190D given to me by my grandfater a few months ago. It is in pretty rough shap. Anti-Freeze in the oil. bald tires and who knows what else. It starts right up and seems to run good. Any info on this tractor is appreciated as I attempt to decide what I am going to do with it. How many HP, how many bottoms etc. Thanks to all that reply and hope you have had a great weekend

Early ones had too much HP for the rear end! Later ones were built stronger. Can be a gear jumper if they weren't treated well.

Allis/Chalmers. One-ninty,about 75/80 horspower. One Ninty XT,about 95/100 horse.Need to know which,it makes a difference. Pretty snappy power. As far as bottoms,it kinda depends on your soil.4 or 5 bottoms most likely.Since you're so so 'new' to it,you should buy the book(s) ASAP.Look up TractorData.com.There you will find out some basics about your 'new' tractor.

Hi
when it"s running check for any rattling sounds from the clutch area that come and go when pressing the clutch pedal. those tractors can have bearing issues on the input shaft to the gear box. Had one here did it for years. But you won"t know how many years it did it, and might quit sooner rather than later. as said they can be gear jumpers my 180 was. Does the power diverter work properly also.
The 180 I had, the motor was worn out but still ran nice, running good and good starting doesn"t always follow a real nice motor, sometimes that can lead to a false economy when buying used tractors, seen some real nice running motors be junk on tear down in my shop for customers the only real thing noticeable was a small amount of blow by on the breather tube.

Antifreeze in the oil is never a good sign. That needs to be addressed before you run it! that can and will take out the engine bearings. Tires are going to be expensive! No getting around that. If it has sentimental value it's worth saving. If not then with the condition stated you may be better off parting it out. Here that's a 4-5K tractor in decent shape. Rubber is going to run 2k or better for new, plus fixing the ant1freeze problem plus the other minor repairs as needed. Could get into the 4-10k range depending on the engine and what's gotta be done there, very easy.

don't run it with antifreeze oil , ...you can try bars leak ,,d-I-k-e from napa worx good too ... if the motor is weak , could be simple as head gasket ... I have good diesel engine for the 190 ...
