American Images Aerial Photography?

We get contacted by these guys every few years and have never signed up. Their website does not show any pricing, other than the $50 deposit to book them. Has anyone had experience with this company? What are their prices like?

No, but I am sure you know you can go on the Internet and look at your place from satellite, right? You can zoom right in...close enough to make you uncomfortable that the neighbors might do it too, so watch that nude sun bathing on the deck. Only thing is that some of it is out of date. Last time I did it I tried the "street view" function and was surprised to see a "For Sale" sign out front. Same sign I took the phone number from when I called them. Hasn't been there in about six years.

I"m not sure about their prices but if you really want an aerial photo I would try the local airport first. Depending on your area, there are usually a handful of young pilots that would be happy to help you out for cheap. Otherwise Google Maps Earth View is good substitute and its free, or at least it was.

I was spreading fertilizer when they took the picture of my place. You can zoom in close enough to see the toolbox in the back of my pickup. It's just a little creepy but the distance and area measuring tools are pretty handy.

Wide area coverage uses satellite, but when you zoom in enough the really good pictures on Google are taken from aircraft.

I just got their card a couple weeks ago. I didn"t want to pay their deposit without knowing the final price. They stopped by when i was working in the garden to sell me the picture they took. For a decent sized framed picture it was going to be $300. For just the bare print they wanted $100. Told them i had $50 cash in my pocket. They said it isn"t fair to the people that pay full price. I think it"s not fair that other people like to spend more money than me and drive up prices.

I think it was them. Called the no. on the card. Told the woman on the phone we would pay the full amount if, they would phone us a week ahead of time and tell us when they would take the picture. We wanted to arrange a few things, Like pull tractors from sheds and tie the horses and dog outside. The woman on the phone told me that wasn't possible! They had no idea when the plane would fly over, just next month. NO SALE to us.

WOW! Just used google earth to see this place at street level. Was taken last fall as that was when we were rerunning fence line. Even seen SWMBO sitting on stoop LOL. Funny part was when on main road her truck in driveway taken in afternoon, but when on side road is my truck in driveway taken in morning hours.
Can even tell was taken during work week as hers gone in morning and mine gone in afternoon.

Kewl but scary!!
